Hello
My name is Robert Eng and I am an animation student at MICA. My goal is to gain enough exposure in 3D as possible to work in the production pipeline. My focus is animation, environments, and modeling.
Growing up in the early 2000s, an age where technology was advancing quickly along with innovations in movies and games, sparked a curiosity in seeing what could be possible. As a kid, I remember watching movies like Star Wars and playing games like Super Mario for hours. It brought me joy and enlightened my imagination. I used to sketch these characters and also created my own. As I got older, technology became more advanced which brought VR, more realistic CGI elements, virtual production, and more. I realized how much I wanted to be a part of the innovative world.
In 2016, I began my college career exploring my interests. Since then, I have transferred to different schools and changed majors many times which taught me a lot about myself. Those experiences culminated in finding out what I ultimately want to pursue as a career. In 2021, I went to a local school where I found myself rediscovering and falling in love with drawing. I also got to experience Maya for the first time. Creating art and exploring 3D excited me and reminded me of my childhood imagination. There are so many avenues and possibilities in the world of 3D that I hope to explore. My goal is to create satisfying results to inspire the next generation like how it inspired me.
