Real Image

The goal of this project was to create an accurate 3D recreation of a photo I took of Half Dome in Yosemite. I used height map data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) website to locate the corresponding terrain, which was provided in two images that I stitched together in Photoshop. After processing the height map in Houdini, I imported it into Unreal Engine, ensuring proper real-world scaling. I then positioned my cameras and used assets to replicate the scene as closely as possible to the original photograph.
